It affects both overweight and thin women. Although you can’t eliminate it completely, you can improve the look of it.</p><p>Exercise and weight lifting is your best weapon.  Building muscle mass will boost your metabolism which will burn more fat and make the skin look tight and toned.  “Toning” is simply the abscess of fat and the presence of muscle and it can make the skin appear smoother.</p><p>Supplement your diet with EFA’s. Cellulite occurs primarily as a result of a weakened cell structure in the layer of fatty tissue just below the surface of the skin.  The main cause for the cell structure weakness is a deficiency of the healthy essential fatty acids that are the building blocks of the cell and what gives the cells strength and flexibility.</p><p>Eliminate all commercial baked goods, processed food and fried foods are loaded with hydrogenated and partially hydrogenated oils. Cut back on sugary foods and drinks and foods high in carbohydrates, that can stimulate excess insulin production. This leads to stored fat that can make the cells look fuller and more present than usual, when pushing through the connective tissue.</p><p> The length of time to see results depends on how much cell integrity has been lost to lack of exercise or poor diet. Depending on the severity of the condition, you can start to see improvement is as little as 90 days but, realistically it will take at least 6 months to a year. This might seem like a long time but unfortunately once again, there is no quick fix.</p><p>You can create the illusion of smother skin by applying creams that contain caffeine (the body can absorb it topically), which is a natural diuretic and can help by distributing the water more evenly between the cells for a less lumpy look. The same effect can be achieved by lymphatic massage or (less costly and you can do it by yourself) dry body brushing which increases blood flow and lymphatic drainage of toxins and excess water (through urination). A self tanner can also help, by making the skin appear darker that camouflages the bumps.<a
